Doorstep goes to the OCVA Awards

2016-05-11 Christine longOCVA

We were delighted to be invited to this evening's Oxfordshire Charity and Volunteer Awards, beautifully hosted at Oxford Town Hall by Oxfordshire Community and Voluntary Action. It was wonderful to see such a variety of not-for-profit organisations being celebrated, all working with passion and determination to improve the lives of people across the county and beyond.

Our wonderful Wednesday bonfire volunteer Christine was presented with a volunteer award, alongside volunteers from 50 other local charities.

Doorstep as a whole organisation made it to the final three for Best Charity of the Year, which we were thrilled about! It's thanks to the dedication, hard work and creativity of our staff, our volunteers, our families and our wider community that we are in a position to receive such great recognition at county level - thank you all.

There is always laughter, happiness and mischief, there are things you would not expect, there are opportunities, there is grown up conversation, there are people to hold your little ones whilst you play with your older ones, there is mess and buttering, learning and exploring, riding and reading.
