Sad news about Doorstep Saturdays

2016-07-21

It is with regret that Donnington Doorstep have made the decision to stop running our Saturday Drop-In sessions. Our funding situation following recent cuts means that we cannot maintain our current opening hours, so we have chosen to close on Saturdays because of the lower average visitor numbers.

We are grateful to the fantastic staff and families who have made our Saturdays so fun, and we do hope we can re-open the session in future. In the meantime we are open this Saturday 23 July, and then for a last time on Saturday August 6. Please head here for a full list of days Doorstep is closed over the summer.

It is tough to find funding for stay and play sessions, but we know our visitors love them. So we encourage all families who can afford to do so to make a donation each time they visit. If you prefer you can simply set up a monthly donation - find out more here. We'll be in touch in the coming weeks and months to rally our Doorstep family to help us prevent any further cuts in hours, but in the meantime please keep coming and playing and enjoying all the summer fun we have on offer.

Doorstep is a fantastic centre. Out of all the 'stay and play' centres this has to be one of the most enriching. The longer opening hours make it unique as other centres have very limited sessions and times. Long live Doorstep!
